Call of the Mountain seems like a truly ambitious VR title, judging from the gameplay footage shown so far, and the game’s newly listed price point is the same as most 2022 triple-A game releases - Horizon Forbidden West included. The world of Horizon is big enough for plenty of stories to be told, and Call of the Mountain looks to fully immerse players in the series’ ruined world on a brand-new level. As shown in the latest Horizon Call of the Mountain trailer on the Guerrilla YouTube channel, this task involves climbing a dangerous mountain using Ryas's twin pickaxes and fending off any attacking Machines with a bow and arrow from a first-person perspective. Ryas will seek redemption by investigating a threat to the Sundom.
Guerrilla Games also shared more information about Call of the Mountain’s plot, which will put players in the role of a former Shadow Carja Warrior named Ryas. Pre-orders are now available on the PlayStation Store, which lists Horizon Call of the Mountain at £59.99 (or $69.99). According to TheGamer, Horizon Call of the Mountain will launch on February 22, the same day that the PSVR 2 is set to hit store shelves. Fans now have an official release date for this intriguing VR game, complete with a stunning new Horizon Call of the Mountain trailer that shows off even more of the sights players will be taking in on the PlayStation VR 2.
